Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is one of the longest cases in the country. But the day of 5th August 2020 was recorded in golden letters. There were many turning points in the entire 492 year history of Ayodhya from 1528 to 2020.
Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Awadh city Ayodhya has basically been a city of temples. It is said that the city of Ayodhya was settled by Vivaswan (Surya), son of Lord Shri Ram’s ancestor Vaivaswat Manu. Therefore, the rule of Suryavanshi kings continued in the city of Ayodhya till the Mahabharata period. Lord Shri Ram was born in Dasharatha Palace of Ayodhya city itself. The incomparable beauty and beautiful buildings of this city full of blessed grains and gems and jewelery are also described in Valmiki Ramayana. That is why Maharishi Valmiki, while comparing the beauty of Ayodhya city in Ramayana, called it the second Indraloka.
But after Lord Shri Ram took Jal Samadhi, Ayodhya became desolate for some time. It is said that Ramji’s son Kush again rebuilt Ayodhya and after this its existence remained at its peak for the next 44 generations of Suryavansh. After this, even after the war during Mahabharata period, Ayodhya again became desolate.
According to mythology, in ancient times, there is a description of Ayodhya being desolated and re-populated after Lord Shri Ram took water samadhi and after the Mahabharata war. But Shri Ram’s birthplace Ayodhya and the Shri Ram temple built here had to face attacks not once but many times. Many campaigns were also launched by the Mughals to destroy Ayodhya, Babri structure was erected in the temple, grand temples were demolished and mosques were built. But the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram could never be destroyed. Actually, the history of Ayodhya city is older than Tretayuga. But we will tell you about about 500 years of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya, from the dispute in the city of Ayodhya to its demolition, construction and inauguration.
History of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya (Ram Mandir History)
Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi is one of the longest running cases in the country. The history of Ram Janmabhoomi is very old. There were many turning points in the entire 495 year history of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi from 1528 to 2023. In this, the day of 9 November 2019 was very special, when the constitutional bench of 5 judges gave a historic verdict.
- 1528: Mughal emperor Babar’s commander Mir Baqi built a mosque at the disputed site. Regarding this place, it was claimed by the people of Hindu community that this is the birthplace of Lord Ram and there was also an ancient temple at this place. People from the Hindu side said that one of the three domes built in the mosque is the birthplace of Lord Ram.
- 1853-1949: For the first time in 1853, riots took place at many places around the place where the mosque was built on the birthplace of Shri Ram. After this, in 1859, the British administration put up a fence near the disputed site and allowed Muslims to worship inside the structure while Hindus were allowed to worship outside near the platform.
- 1949: The real dispute over Ayodhya Shri Ram Janmabhoomi took place on 23 September 1949, when idols of Lord Ram were found in the mosque. Regarding this, people of Hindu community started saying that Lord Ram has personally appeared here. At the same time, people of the Muslim community alleged that someone secretly placed the idols here. In such a situation, the UP government immediately ordered to remove the statues from there. But District Magistrate (DM) KK Nair expressed his inability to issue this order due to fear of hurting religious sentiments and instigating riots. In this way, the government considered it a disputed structure and locked it.
- 1950: Two petitions were filed in the Civil Court of Faizabad. In this, one was for permission to worship Ramlala on the disputed land and the other was for permission to keep the idol.
- 1961: UP Sunni Waqf Board filed an application demanding possession of the disputed land and removal of the idols.
- 1984: On 1 February 1986, on the petition of UC Pandey, Faizabad District Judge KM Pandey allowed Hindus to worship and ordered the removal of the lock on the structure.
- 1992: This riot was historic. On December 6, 1992, lakhs of workers of many Hindu organizations including VHP and Shiv Sena demolished the disputed structure. This led to communal riots across the country and thousands of people were killed.
- 2002: Godhra train carrying Hindu activists was set on fire and about 58 people were killed. Due to this, riots broke out in Gujarat also and more than two thousand people were killed in this riot.
- 2010: Allahabad High Court ordered to divide the disputed land into three equal parts between Sunni Waqf Board, Ram Lalla Virajman and Nirmohi Akhara.
- 2011: The Supreme Court stayed the Allahabad High Court’s decision on the Ayodhya dispute.
- 2017: Supreme Court calls for out-of-court settlement and criminal conspiracy charges against several BJP leaders are reinstated.
- 2019: On March 8, 2019, the Supreme Court referred the case to arbitration and ordered the proceedings to be concluded within 8 weeks. After this, on August 1, the mediation panel presented its report and on August 2, the Supreme Court was not successful in finding a solution to the mediation panel case. Meanwhile, the Ayodhya case was being heard daily in the Supreme Court and after the completion of the hearing on 16 August 2019, the decision was reserved.
- 2019, 09 November: A bench of 5 judges of the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. The Hindu side got 2.77 acres of disputed land and a separate 5 acres of land for the mosque was ordered to be provided to the Muslim side.
- 2020: On March 25, 2020, after 28 years, Ram Lalla moved out of the tent and shifted to the Fiber Temple and after this, Bhoomi Pujan was performed on August 5.
- 2023: Now once again the grand temple of Ramlala is ready in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Shri Ram. The grand temple of Ramlala will be inaugurated on 22 January 2024. In this way this dispute that has been going on for years will end and Ramlala will be worshipped.
