Prior to being arrested by the ED in connection with the land scam case, Hemant Soren quit his position as Jharkhand’s chief minister on Wednesday.
“The Chief Manager, Hemant Soren, has resigned…There are 47 MLAs who support us.We suggest installing a new government.Our new CM will be Champai Soren.”There hasn’t been enough time for us to be sworn in,” stated Jharkhand Legislator Alamgir Alam.

Governor declines to meet MLAs from JMM-Congress
Since everything in Jharkhand is changing every minute, developments there will be attentively monitored. Prior to this, the JMM-Congress MLAs arrived to Raj Bhawan to formally declare Champai Soren the leader of the House, but the Jharkhand Governor declined to meet with them.
After leaving Raj Bhawan, the MLAs vented their annoyance and even questioned the governor’s intentions.
Our proposal is to establish a government headed by Champai Soren. We should be permitted to form the government because we have 47 MLAs. Alamgir Alam stated, “The governor promised to verify our paperwork and give us a call.
