Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi have been sentenced to 10 years in jail each for leaking confidential information. Both were found guilty of leaking confidential information by a special court constituted under the Official Secrets Act. Imran Khan (71 years old) and Shah Mehmood Qureshi (67 years old) are lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi attended the court hearing virtually from jail itself.

PTI will challenge the decision Imran Khan’s party PTI has strongly criticized this decision. PTI has issued a statement saying that its legal team will challenge this decision in the high court. The party contended that the verdict was rendered in a rush and that neither the public nor the media were permitted to attend the case hearing. According to PTI, nothing revealed in court will alter the events of March–April 2022.In this instance, the law has been made laughably absurd. The party appealed to the people to vote for ‘real freedom’ in the general elections to be held on February 8.

what is the matter of leaking confidential documents Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party Chief Imran Khan was found guilty of making confidential diplomatic documents public during a public meeting. This incident happened during Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister. The Pakistani Embassy in the United States supplied the document that was made public. More than 150 cases have been registered against Imran Khan since he was ousted from power.

Imran Khan has been convicted in the second case pending against him. Earlier, Imran Khan was also convicted in the Toshakhana case on August 5. In the Toshakhana case, Imran Khan received a three-year prison sentence.
