“It seems like I was simply perusing Novak’s Instagram profile when I unintentionally hit the message button and chose to send him a hello. That’s how we got in touch quite naturally. Then I already had a message from him in my direct message. It had never been opened by me. I said to myself, “Let me just see if this is a fake account or something.” However, after double checking, it turned out to be authentic. Then, yes, we started conversing. We keep messaging each other every now and then. Kohli remarked, “I congratulated him on all his incredible accomplishments.

 

He continued by wishing Djokovic the best of luck in the Australian Open in 2024 and expressed confidence that the world would witness his best play during the competition.

 

“I want to wish you the finest possible luck at the Australian Open. I’m aware of your excitement and readiness for these significant occasions, and I’m confident we’ll witness the same Novak Djokovic as we’ve seen throughout the years. “I hope you have an amazing tournament,” continued Kohli.

DJOKOVIC UP TO THE SECOND ROUND

 

In a match that lasted more than four hours, Djokovic defeated Dino Prizmic of Croatia in the first round to open his defence of the Australian Open championship.

 

In the opening round of the men’s singles, the Serb rallied after dropping the second set to defeat 18-year-old Prizmic 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4.

 

It was Djokovic’s longest first-round match at a Grand Slam and only the second occasion in his previous 17 Australian Open first-round matches that he has lost a set.
