IND vs ENG: R Ashwin returned home due to mother’s ill health
R Ashwin achieved a big milestone on the second day of the third Test against England (IND vs ENG 3rd Test). In Test cricket, Ashwin became the second bowler from India to reach 500 wickets. Ashwin (R Ashwin) has hurriedly returned to his home after completing 500 wickets. BCCI informed that Ashwin has been left out of the squad for the third Test due to family emergency.
Actually, owing to a family issue, Ravichandran Ashwin (R Ashwin) abruptly left the third test between IND and ENG and returned to Chennai. This information was provided by BCCI on X (previously Twitter). BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla also informed in a tweet that Ashwin’s mother is unwell, due to which he hastily left the third Test midway and returned to his home. Rajiv Shukla has tweeted and prayed for the speedy recovery of Ashwin’s mother.
BCCI said in its statement that in this difficult time of Ashwin, BCCI and the team are with him. The board and the team will continue to provide all possible support to Ashwin and will keep lines of communication open to provide support if needed. In this delicate moment, Team India also appreciates the compassion and understanding shown by the media and supporters.
R Ashwin completed 500 wickets in test cricket
On the second day of the Rajkot Test being played between India and England, R Ashwin completed his 500 wickets in the Test. He made England’s opening batsman Jack Crawley his victim and achieved this special position. Ashwin became the second Indian player to take 500 wickets. During this, Ashwin overtook Anil Kubale. Former Indian captain Anil Kumble had completed 500 wickets in 105 Test matches. Ashwin accomplished this record in 98 test matches at the same period.
